Andalucía Day 8 – Córdoba & HOME

After moving our luggage into the buses, we walked on foot to the final destination of our Andalucía trip, the Mezquita de Córdoba. It was originally a Catholic Christian church built by the Visigoths, but it was later converted to an Islamic mosque in the Middle Ages. After the Reconquista, it was made a Catholic Christian church once again. The cathedral is regarded as one of the most accomplished monuments of Moorish architecture. I had seen a couple of cathedrals throughout this trip, and I thought this one was interesting, not because it was grand, but because of its interesting history and striped arches. Although it is a Christian church now, the traces of its Islamic past life are still visible.

After grabbing some food and mini-exploring, we made our way back to the buses and drove for about 6 hours back to our little town of Sagunto, successfully ending our Fall Quarter trip.

I DID IT. Stay tuned for my Italy trip which happened approximately 4 days after we returned from this trip…. -__-
